Whilst being a director in the firm’s conveyancing department, Jaco also deals in commercial transactions, deceased estate administration and to a limited degree, litigation in all levels of court for corporate clients. Jaco further deals with all forms of trusts and act as independent trustee for numerous clients. As one of only a handful of liquor consultants in the Northern Cape Province, Jaco extensively deals with all liquor licensing matters and has an expanded client base in this regard. Being the current chairperson of the board as well as the office manager, Jaco is involved with the management of the firm and is also the appointed principal and mentor for the firm’s young professionals.

Jaco was born and raised in Upington. Before making the move into the private sector, he was with the South African Police Services for 13 years. He then completed his articles at Lange Carr & Wessels Inc., where after he served as an associate before being appointed as a director in 2007. Jaco is also an admitted and registered conveyancer and notary.

Jaco is involved in his community, having served on the management committees of several community structures over the years, amongst which as chairperson of the local business chamber, vice chairperson of a school governing body and president of the Circle 19 of the Law Society of South Africa. He currently serves on the management committee of the Northern Cape Lawyers Association.

Jaco enjoys a round of golf and a bit of biking and also subscribes to the outdoor lifestyle, including off-roading, over-landing excursions and camping.  He is also an avid hunter and enjoys spending time on the shooting range when possible. He has a great love for South Africa, particularly the Northern Cape with all its different facets.
