Carmen du Preez is an attorney with a passion for property law and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Raised in Upington, Carmen matriculated at Duineveld High School before pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Law with Industrial Psychology at the North West University in Potchefstroom. After completing her studies, she set off as an English teacher on an enriching adventure to Hanoi, Vietnam – a decision fueled by her desire to gain international experience while still young.

Carmen’s legal career began at Lange Carr & Wessels, where she worked in the conveyancing department for a short period before moving to Port Elizabeth. It was during this time that she discovered her love for property law and made a pivotal promise to return to Lange Carr & Wessels  as an admitted attorney. She completed her LLB through UNISA, followed by her articles, and was admitted as an attorney at the High Court, Eastern Cape Division, in 2024. True to her word, she returned to Lange Carr & Wessels in February 2025, and is proud to now be part of a prestigious legacy dating back to 1948.

As an associate attorney, Carmen is focused on property law and aspires to further her qualifications by being admitted as a conveyancer and notary in the near future. She is also available to draft wills and administer deceased estates, and also practices commercial law.

In her personal life, Carmen enjoys playing golf, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Though a lover of adventure, she equally values the peace and comfort of her home, where she recharges and reflects on her continuous personal and professional growth. Carmen looks forward to a fulfilling legal career with Lange Carr & Wessels, working alongside a talented team of legal professionals and contributing to the firm’s continued success.
