Melissa is a director at Lange Carr & Wessels and a trusted voice in family law, children’s rights and deceased estates. With over a decade of experience, she’s known for combining deep legal knowledge with genuine compassion — especially when dealing with sensitive matters like divorce, custody disputes, maintenance, domestic violence, and the administration of estates.

Her academic journey includes both an LL.B and LL.M from the University of the Free State, followed by advanced studies in child law, reflecting her strong commitment to the protection and wellbeing of children.

Melissa joined the firm in 2012 as a candidate attorney and was appointed as an associate just one year later. In 2019, she broke new ground by becoming the first female director in the firm’s long history — a milestone that reflects not only her expertise, but her leadership and resilience.
